Born a cold, dark night in northern New England, Rob has decided to devote a good portion of his time to making art. New England, with its hazy beaches and worn landscape dotted by dead and dying mill towns figures prominently in his work, the former being plainly stated in the many depictions of the coats and the latter explicit in a painting or two but found in the meditations on time and its ephemeral nature in those same long, uninterrupted coastal horizons with their vague shapes and spectral light. Preferring oils, he also works in acrylic and dry media.
Shown in the University of Maine at Augusta Student Art show, 2010, with one of his pieces purchased by the school.
